    Why switch energy supplier?

Many businesses believe they have little or no choice in their commercial energy supplier. However, there are many choices available to businesses these days, and the energyhelpline business team could help you save up to 70% on your energy bills. Watch our video guide below on how to start the comparison process.

    When can I switch supplier?

Commercial energy supplies generally come under a contract, which will automatically renew each year. If you want to change supplier, you need to give your current supplier a minimum of four weeks' notice. For more details see the What do I need to do to change supplier? section below.

However, if you are new to the premises then you won't automatically be placed in a contract, so you are free to find a new contract when you wish. We recommend that you do this as soon as possible because most suppliers charge high "out of contract" rates.

How long will it take to switch supplier?

The energyhelpline business team can help you switch supplier much more quickly than trying to do it yourself, which could take you days talking to your existing supplier and discussing contracts with potential new ones. Simply call us on 0800 008 77 72 or fill out your details on our homepage and a member of our team will call you back at a convenient time. They will ask you a few questions and find the best contract for you, and then we will oversee the switch on your behalf. This shouldn't take up much of your time at all.

If you are in a contract with your existing supplier, your switch will take place as soon as your notice period is up, and will happen instantly with no interruption to your supply. You can find more information on notice periods here.

How much does our service cost?

Our service is provided completely free of charge to clients.  For each contract that we arrange with suppliers, we earn a fee from the selected supplier.pound-_sign.gif

What's more, because we work with a range of suppliers, we often have access to better rates than those you may get by going direct, because they know they have to offer competitive rates to win your business.

How do I know that this is the best deal for me?

We work with most of the major commercial energy suppliers, meaning that in some cases the rates we have negotiated special rates with suppliers and are exclusive to our company – often up to 10% cheaper than what suppliers offer direct.

What do I need to do to change supplier?

After you've spoken to us, the only thing you need to do is give termination notice to your current supplier in writing, but don't worry - we've created templates of the letters so all you need to do is download the relevant letter and sign it. Giving sufficient termination notice will allow you to leave your contract. Then all you need to do is sign the contract with your new suppliers, and we will do the rest. We would advise you to read over the terms and conditions of your existing contract before entering a new contract. Watch our video guide below on what happens after you switch business energy.
